Man arrested after fighting with security, staff at Grand Island hospital, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Sunday after fighting with security guards at a Grand Island hospital, police say.

Around 8:30 p.m., officers were called CHI Health St. Francis on a report of a disturbance.

Police said Moises Llamas Lopez had tried punching security guards and was threatening staff at the hospital.

He also spit in a guard’s face and broke his glasses during a fight, according to police.

Lopez later tried grabbing a gun from an officer’s holster, police said.  He then spit on the officers.

Eventually, hospital staff sedated Lopez, and he was taken into custody.

Lopez was released from the hospital and arrested on suspicion of several charges, including third-degree assault on an officer.
