LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Thursday after an hours-long standoff in Milford, the Nebraska State Patrol says.

Around 11:15 p.m. on Wednesday, troopers were called in to help the Milford Police Department after an armed man barricaded himself in a home.

The patrol said Ethan Foster, 22, pointed a firearm at officers while they were conducting a welfare check near Fifth and C streets.

Authorities tried to communicate with Foster but were unsuccessful.

Troopers eventually used a drone to find Foster — who was still armed — inside the home, according to the patrol.

Around 2:30 a.m., the SWAT team entered the home and took Foster into custody.

During the arrest, Foster kicked and tried to hit troopers, the patrol said.

The Milford Police Department is leading the investigation.
