Man arrested after pair of stabbings in west Lincoln, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested after a pair of stabbings were reported Sunday evening in west Lincoln, police say.
The stabbing report came in just before 9 p.m. near Eighth and A streets, where officers found an injured 30-year-old man.
He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening.
About 30 minutes later, officers were sent on another report of a stabbing, this time near Southwest 27th and West B streets.
Jaime Javier Garcia Erazo, 32, called police and said he had been stabbed, according to police. He was also taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Through the course of an investigation, officers learned Erazo was the assailant in the first stabbing, LPD said.
It’s unclear what led up to Erazo being stabbed.
After being released from the hospital, he was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
An investigation is ongoing.
