Man arrested for firing handgun in downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested early Sunday morning in downtown Lincoln after firing a handgun multiple times.

According to authorities, witnesses reported seeing a male walking near Antelope Valley Parkway and O Streets firing a gun into the air. When officers arrived they found Jason Harden, 37, in a nearby alley where he aggressively charged at officers.

LPD says a taser was deployed and Harden was taken into custody without further incident.

The firearm was reported stolen and two shell casings were found near the scene.

Harden was arrested for unlawful discharge of a firearm, use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony, possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, and theft by unlawful taking.
