Man arrested in armed break-in of Grand Island home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested in an armed break-in at a Grand Island home last month.

On Oct. 24, just before 1 a.m., four people entered a home near East Fifth and Beal streets armed with bats and a knife.

The Grand Island Police Department said they were wearing surgical gloves, masks, dark hoodies and jeans.

The group tried to steal tools and a purse.  It’s unknown if anything was taken from the home.

On Monday, officers arrested Kayden Smith on suspicion of several charges, including robbery and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
