Man arrested in brass knuckle attack at Lincoln Casey’s

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was charged Monday in a brass knuckle assault at a Lincoln gas station last month, court documents say.
The assault happened on June 1 at Casey’s near 27th and O streets, according to an arrest affidavit filed Tuesday.
Baath Alarab, 20, and five other men approached the two victims in the parking lot and started punching them, the affidavit says.
Investigators think Alarab and the other assailants were using brass knuckles during the attack.
A friend of the victims took them to a hospital. They had bruising and cuts but no serious injuries, according to police.
One of the victims thinks the assault was “unprovoked” and began over a girl he was “believed” to be involved with.
The victims later helped identify three of the men who assaulted them, including Alarab, the affidavit says.
Investigators arrested Alarab on suspicion of second-degree assault.
A Lancaster County judge set Alarab’s bond at $25,000. He must pay $2,500 to be released from jail.
