Man arrested in deadly shooting at Columbus home

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A woman was shot and killed Tuesday night at a home in Columbus, police say.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting around 8:35 p.m. at a home near Seventh Street and Fornof Road.
When officers arrived, they found a woman with a gunshot wound to her head, the Columbus Police Department said.
She was taken to a hospital, where she later died.
Officers took 25-year-old Jack Reeg into custody on suspicion of second-degree murder, use of a weapon to commit a felony and terroristic threats.
Interim Police Chief Bret Strecker said the department is committed to conducting a “thorough” investigation into the shooting.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the victim during this difficult time,” he said in a press release.
