Man arrested in north Lincoln shooting that injured two
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested in connection with a north Lincoln shooting over the weekend, police said Monday.
Donald Handy, 55, was taken into custody on Saturday night, hours after the shooting near 26th and Potter streets.
He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of accessory to a Class 2 or 2A felony.
Police said Handy arrived at the home before the shooting. He had agreed to give someone at the house a ride.
Handy told officers he later heard gunshots and a scream but did not see the shooting, which injured a man and a woman. Both victims are in critical condition.
LPD said Handy drove off with two other people inside his vehicle. One of the passengers eventually got out, and Handy continued driving the other occupant around for several more hours.
Investigators have identified one of the suspects.
An investigation is ongoing.
