Man arrested in pair of armed robberies at north Lincoln auto parts stores

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday in connection to armed robberies last month at auto parts stores in north Lincoln.
The Lincoln Police Department said the Lincoln Lancaster County Narcotics Task Force took Jamal Carr, 31, into custody in Waverly.
He was arrested on suspicion of two counts of robbery and attempted robbery.
Police said Carr was involved in armed robberies at two O’Reilly Auto Parts stores last month.
The first robbery happened on July 14 at the store near 84th and Adams streets.
Carr and another man — who has not been identified — entered the store, and one of them pointed a shotgun at the employees, according to police.
The employees were then moved into an office, where they were forced to open a safe, police said.
Ten days later, Carr and another man held an employee at gunpoint at O’Reilly Auto Parts near 48th and Holdrege streets.
On July 28, officers responded to a report of a suspicious person at the Family Dollar near 13th and High streets.
Police said the caller’s description of the two suspects matched those reports from the O’Reilly robberies.
