Man assaulted by teens in Grand Island suffered broken jaw, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Three teens were caught early Saturday morning after an assault in Grand Island, police say.

Around 1:50 a.m., officers were notified of an assault that took place near North Wheeler Avenue and West 20th Street.

A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy attacked a man, who suffered a broken jaw, according to police.

While the fight was happening, a 17-year-old boy assaulted the victim’s friend, leaving him with a cut above his eye that required stitches.

Police said the 15-year-old boy was lodged in a juvenile detention center on suspicion of first-degree assault.

The other two teens were cited on suspicion of third-degree assault.
