LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A pair of officers were injured Friday while arresting a man in Grand Island, police say.

Around 6:30 p.m., officers were sent to North Sycamore and Third streets on a report of a disturbance.

When officers arrived, they tried speaking with Joshua Rodenbaugh, who tried walking away, according to police.

Officers told Rodenbaugh to stop, but he refused.

Rodenbaugh started fighting with officers, eventually biting one of the officer’s hands, police said.

Additional officers were called to the scene, and Rodenbaugh was taken into custody.

One officer suffered a minor injury and another suffered a serious injury during the struggle.

Rodenbaugh was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including first-degree assault on an officer and obstructing a police officer.
