Man broke into vacant Lincoln home, stole $75 worth of alcohol, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday morning after a burglary at a vacant home in Lincoln, police say.

Around 12:40 a.m., 44-year-old Noah Yankton tried entering the back door of a home near 27th and B streets.

At some point, Yankton also broke into the vacant home next door and stole about $75 worth of alcohol, police said.

When officers arrived, they found Yankton walking in a nearby alley.

After a short chase, he was taken into custody, police said.  The stolen alcohol bottles were found in a bag.

Police estimate that the two homes had about $300 in damage.

Yankton was arrested on suspicion of burglary, attempted burglary and resisting arrest.
