Man caught after high-speed chase on rural Lancaster County roads, deputy says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man led a deputy on a high-speed chase Wednesday in rural Lancaster County, the sheriff’s office says.

Around 1:15 a.m., a deputy saw a Pontiac Grand Prix run a stop sign near 96th Street and Olive Creek Road.

The deputy tried pulling over the driver, but he took off, Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.

During the chase, the driver — 36-year-old Brandon Imes — reached speeds of over 80 mph on gravel roads, Houchin said.

Another deputy at 54th Street and Saltillo Road used stop sticks to flatten the vehicle’s tires.

Imes lost control of the vehicle, and it came to a stop.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including fleeing to avoid arrest.
