Man caught hauling 55 pounds of meth in Nebraska sentenced

Authorities say a man caught hauling approximately 55 pounds of meth through Nebraska has been sentenced to prison.
United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced Elmer Alexander Andrade will spend more than 14 years in prison after Andrade was convicted of conspiracy to distribute and possess with intent to distribute methamphetamine.
State Patrol investigator seized the meth from a vehicle driven by Andrade, after pulling him over for a traffic violation in Hall County in January of 2018.
Investigators also served a search warrant at an apartment in Hastings, Nebraska, where authorities say they seized narcotics packaging material, a scale, police scanners, ledgers, $17,820 and an AR-15 firearm.
