LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man will spend eight years behind bars for stowing over 10 pounds of meth in a Nebraska motel room.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said 43-year-old Ivan Lima-Olivarria of Mexico was sentenced Friday for conspiracy to distribute meth.

Lima-Olivarria was also ordered to forfeit $14,770 seized during his arrest.

On Nov. 23, 2022, authorities received a report that Lima-Olivarria was staying at a motel in Bellevue with over 2 pounds of meth.

Authorities spoke with Lima-Olivarria, who agreed to a search of the room, according to the attorney’s office.

Officers found about 11.5 pounds of meth and $14,770.

After his release from prison, Lima-Olivarria — who is not a U.S. citizen — will be deported to Mexico.
