Man caught with meth after throwing soda bottle at officer, Lincoln Police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man tried to run away Sunday after he threw an open soda bottle at an officer, Lincoln Police say.
During a traffic stop near 17th and G Streets around 7 p.m., officers suspected drug activity and requested the help of a service dog.
While waiting for the dog, officers asked the driver and the passenger, later identified as 50-year-old Larry Lynch, to get out of the vehicle.
Lynch then threw a soda bottle at one of the officers and ran away, according to police.
During the chase, police said Lynch reached near his waistband and an officer used a Taser to stop him.
Lynch was taken into custody, and officers found that he was in possession of 6.4 grams of suspected meth.
After being medically cleared, Lynch was arrested on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance with the intent to deliver, resisting arrest and obstructing a police officer.
