Man charged in death of Nebraska Trooper Kyle McAcy
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was charged with a misdemeanor Thursday in the death of Nebraska Trooper Kyle McAcy, according to court documents.
In a citation filed in Cass County Court, the county attorney charged a 56-year-old Palmyra man with misdemeanor motor vehicle homicide in McAcy’s death.
The man’s arraignment is scheduled for Aug. 26.
On Feb. 17, McAcy was responding to a crash on Interstate 80 between Ashland and Greenwood.
While at the scene, McAcy was hit by a snowplow, according to the Nebraska State Patrol. He was standing outside his cruiser.
McAcy was pronounced dead at the scene.
He had worked with the state patrol for 10 years and was stationed in Omaha.
