Man charged with first-degree assault in northeast Lincoln stabbing, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested early Saturday morning after police say he stabbed someone in northeast Lincoln.
Just after 2 a.m., Officers with the Lincoln Police Department were sent to Travel Lodge Motel near Cornhusker Highway and Superior Street.
When officers arrived, they found a man who was in a fight with 37-year-old Joshua Dieckhoff.
According to LPD, as the victim was trying to leave, Dieckhoff drew a knife and stabbed the victim in the neck and shoulder area.
The victim was taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to police.
Dieckhoff was arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and tampering with physical evidence.
The stabbing is still under investigation.
