Man convicted in 2024 crash that killed pedestrian in north Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man was found guilty Friday in connection with a deadly 2024 crash in north Lincoln.

Michael Hockman, 42, pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of attempting to leave the scene of a serious injury accident.

The crash happened on Feb. 9, 2024, on 27th Street near Old Dairy Road.

Court documents say 64-year-old Steven Keith fell from the median into an SUV.

Keith started crawling across the street, but police said Hockman ran him over with a convertible.

An arrest affidavit says Hockman knew he hit someone but didn’t stop.

Lancaster County District Court Judge Andrew Jacobsen scheduled Hockman’s sentencing for July 22.
