LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man stole a vehicle Tuesday after crashing his own into a guardrail on Interstate 180 in Lincoln, police say.
Just before 10 p.m., officers responded to the crash on I-180 near Cornhusker Highway.
Police said a Buick Enclave, driven by a 24-year-old Krisjanis Pool, crashed into a guard rail in the center median on I-180.
A man pulled over to help the driver, according to LPD.
Pool then got out of his vehicle and stole the man’s Honda CR-V, police said.
Shortly after midnight, Pool showed up at the Bryan West emergency room in the stolen vehicle to be treated for his injuries.
Officers have since recovered the stolen vehicle. A bag of suspected marijuana was also found in Pool’s wallet, according to police.
Pool was admitted to the hospital and cited on suspicion of several charges, including felony theft and second offense DUI.
