Man dies after crashing into tree in downtown Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was killed early Saturday morning in a crash in downtown Lincoln.
The single-vehicle crash happened around 6 a.m. near 12th and O streets.
Police said a vehicle, driven by a 57-year-old man, was heading east when it crossed over into the westbound lanes.
The vehicle then hit a curb and a tree, according to police.
The driver, who has not been identified, was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
In a post to X, the Lincoln Police Department said O Street between 12th and 13th streets will be shut down as an investigation is underway.
