Man driving ‘like Ace Ventura’ charged with drunk driving
UPDATE: Officials have charged the driver with driving under the influence, according to court documents.
Rocky Dumais, 26, was charged with DUI, leaving the scene of an accident, driving under suspension, careless driving, and possession or use of drug paraphernalia, according to the documents.
Dumais was taken into custody and processed for DUI after crashing his car into a tree in December, according to a police accident report.
The report says Dumais was driving eastbound on South Cotner Blvd. near South 56th Street when he veered off the road, striking and uprooting a tree in a nearby yard, and coming to a rest after colliding with a retaining wall.
Dumais told officers that he had crashed because his windshield wipers weren’t working and he was forced to drive with his head out the window “Like Ace Ventura,” the report says.
The report shows Dumais had a BAC of .137.
The crash caused an estimated $500 in damage.
