Man driving stolen motorcycle caught with meth, pills in Lincoln, affidavit says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man driving a stolen motorcycle tried evading arrest Monday after a traffic stop in Lincoln, police say.

Around 5:40 p.m., an officer pulled over a motorcyclist near 33rd and O streets for having an unreadable license plate.

The driver — 51-year-old Shane Partsch — tried driving away, but the officer grabbed the motorcycle’s clutch lever, an arrest affidavit said.

Partsch then ran away, and the officer tackled him to the ground, according to the affidavit.

Police said Partsch continued to resist arrest, but he was eventually taken into custody.

A user of the NOW Local News App captured video showing police at the scene.

Officers found 35.1 grams of methamphetamine and 61 Alprazolam pills in Partsch’s bag, the affidavit alleges.

Alprazolam is an anti-anxiety drug that is sometimes misused due to the “euphoria” it produces, the National Institutes of Health said.

Partsch also had cash, drug paraphernalia and items typically used in drug sales, according to police.

Investigators later discovered that the motorcycle, valued at around $7,000, was reported stolen.

Partsch was arrested on suspicion of three felonies, including theft and possession of meth with intent to deliver.

A Lancaster County judge set Partsch’s bond at $500,000.  He must pay $50,000 to be released from jail.
