Man who drove vehicle without front tire near Lincoln accused of DUI

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man driving a vehicle without a front tire was arrested Wednesday near Lincoln, authorities say.

Around 3:30 p.m., a Ford Mustang was spotted driving without a front passenger tire near 84th Street and Highway 6.

A deputy pulled over the vehicle, and the driver — 22-year-old Hunter Tucker — smelled of alcohol, Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said.

When deputies tried arresting Tucker, he ran into a field, according to Houchin.

Tucker then got back into his vehicle.

“A struggle continued, more deputies arrived, and the driver was finally taken out of the vehicle, placed on the ground and arrested,” Houchin said.

Tucker had a 0.222% blood alcohol content, according to Houchin.  The legal limit in Nebraska is .08%.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including driving under the influence and resisting arrest.
