Man drove off after crashing into police cruiser in east Lincoln, LPD says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man is accused of driving off after crashing into a police cruiser in east Lincoln on Friday.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. just north of 70th Street and Old Cheney Road.
Police said an officer was conducting a DUI investigation.
A pickup truck, driven by 43-year-old Matthew Hofts, then hit the cruiser and left the scene, police said.
A 59-year-old in the back of the cruiser suffered a head injury, according to police.
Hofts was later arrested on suspicion of leaving the scene of an injury accident.
The cruiser had $15,000 in damage.
