LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A Wyoming man was arrested Monday after a multi-state chase that ended in western Nebraska, the state patrol says.

Around 8:40 p.m. Mountain time, South Dakota authorities notified the Nebraska State Patrol of a motorcycle that was heading toward the state line on Highway 385.

A trooper later saw the motorcycle – driven by 31-year-old Gerald Hobbs – going about 98 mph in northern Dawes County, the patrol said.

The trooper tried to pull Hobbs over, but he refused to stop and sped off, reaching speeds over 100 mph.

During the chase, Hobbs drove through a field before a trooper was eventually able to stop him, the patrol said.

Troopers found a weapon and drugs in Hobbs’ backpack.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including possession of a controlled substance and flight to avoid arrest.
