Man falls through ice while goose hunting at lake near Lincoln

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man fell through the ice Thursday while hunting at Yankee Hill Lake southwest of Lincoln.
About 4:30 p.m., the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission received a report of a man in the water.
The man shot a goose, and it landed on the ice, according to Sgt. Curt Prohaska with Game and Parks.
So he went out on the ice to get the bird, but it broke.
The hunter was able get himself out of the water, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office said.
He was treated for hypothermia at the scene as a precaution, Prohaska said, then taken to a hospital.
The man is doing OK now, authorities said.
Southwest Fire & Rescue and Hickman Fire & Rescue also responded.
