Man flown to hospital after explosive goes off in vehicle in northeast Nebraska
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — A man suffered serious injuries when an explosive went off in his vehicle early Monday morning.
Stanton County deputies responded to a call from a 50-year-old man who had been injured in an explosion.
Authorities found the man suffering from traumatic injuries to his hand and body, the sheriff’s office said.
A medical helicopter later flew the critically injured man to a Norfolk hospital for emergency surgery. His current condition is unknown.
Deputies think the man had a firework or a homemade explosive that went off in the vehicle.
The explosion remains under investigation.
