Man found hiding meth in Omaha home gets over 12 years in federal prison

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man will spend over a decade in prison after authorities found meth in an Omaha home, the U.S. Attorney’s Office says.

Jose Arevalo-Villalobos, 39, of Mexico was sentenced Friday to 12 years and seven months in prison for conspiracy to distribute meth.

On May 19, 2022, officers served a search warrant at a home in south Omaha after receiving a report that meth was inside.

Investigators found a pound of meth hidden in Arevalo-Villalobos’ room, the attorney’s office said.

Officers also discovered 4 pounds of meth in the storage room and a gun in the basement.

On May 27, 2022, Arevalo-Villalobos was arrested and admitted to possessing the package of meth found in his room.

Areval0-Villalobos is not a U.S. citizen and will be deported to Mexico after his prison sentence, the attorney’s office said.
