Man found holding woman against her will in traffic stop near Lincoln, sheriff says
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Omaha man was found Thursday with a woman who said she was being held against her will, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.
Around 5 a.m., a deputy pulled over a vehicle that had expired license plates near Northwest 48th Street and Highway 34, Sheriff Terry Wagner said.
During the traffic stop, a woman in the vehicle grabbed documents from the glove compartment and handed them to the deputy.
Wagner said she had written on the documents that she was being held against her will.
The driver, 23-year-old Chavonni Woods, then grabbed her phone and broke it.
Wagner said Woods had warrants for his arrest and he was taken into custody.
He was also arrested on suspicion of false imprisonment and terroristic threats.
