Man found with AR-15 rifle after leaving scene of shooting, Lincoln Police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was found with an AR-15-style rifle shortly after a shooting was reported in north Lincoln on Monday, police say.
Around 5:51 p.m., officers were sent to a neighborhood near 48th Street and Cornhusker Highway on a report of a fight and gunshots heard.
When officers arrived, they found no gunshot victims or damaged property in the area but did locate shell casings, Lincoln Police say.
Around the same time, officers in the area saw a Chevy Tahoe speeding and pulled over the driver, 38-year-old Lagarian Gamble.
During an investigation, police say they found the AR-15 along with several rifle magazines and a 50-round drum magazine for a pistol.
Police then arrested Gamble on suspicion of possession of a firearm by a prohibited person and a short-barreled rifle.
Police say an investigation into the fight is ongoing.
