Man gets time behind bars for slaying Colorado man

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (AP)  A 31-year-old man has been given 364 days behind bars for the slaying of a Colorado man at a transients camp in western Nebraska.

On Monday in Lincoln County District Court, Randy Nevsimal was credited with 327 days already served and, with good time, was released from custody. He'd been charged with second-degree murder, but in a deal with prosecutors for a reduced charge, Nevsimal pleaded no contest and was convicted of being an accessory by concealing a felony.

Nevsimal, David Saxton and Maybelle Collins were prosecuted for the killing of 43-year-old Lonnie Sanchez, of Hoehne (HOH'-nee), Colorado. Sanchez's body was found last September at the camp near the city of North Platte.

Saxton has been given 30 years to life in prison. Collins was given 364 days in jail.
