Man in custody after south Lincoln standoff

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Monday after standoff that lasted about five hours.

Police said they were serving an arrest warrant for a protection order violation at a home near Worthington Avenue and Brower Road.

About 6:30 p.m., a Channel 8 reporter counted at least 15 police cars, including an armored vehicle, at the scene.

Officers were armed with rifles and calling over a megaphone for a man named Jack to come out of the house.

Neighbors reported hearing flash bangs as the SWAT team entered the home shortly before 8 p.m.

Paramedics were then seen going into the home with a stretcher.

A few minutes later, they loaded a man into an ambulance and drove off.

Police said that the wanted man is in custody and that no one else involved was injured.
