According to LPD, the fire started on the porch but quickly spread to the home, fully engulfing it.

The fire also spread to a nearby trailer, causing $53,000 in structure damage to both homes combined, according to LFR.

Police said there was also $40,000 in damage to the contents of the home, bringing the total damage to more than $90,000.

An investigator with LFR said the fire was started accidentally by the improper disposal of smoking materials.

According to LPD, three people were evacuated from the home, but Greenfield — who was in a wheelchair — was found dead inside once the fire was extinguished.

A dog and a cat also died in the fire, according to the police department, LFR said.

LFR said oxygen tanks were also inside the home at the time of the fire.
