Teen pointed gun at witness after stealing $6 in food from Lincoln Walgreens, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A teen was caught Tuesday after police say he stole $6 worth of food from a north Lincoln Walgreens.

Around 1:45 p.m. Friday, 18-year-old Taeshaun Moreira walked out of the Walgreens near 27th and Vine streets without paying, authorities said.

Police said a nearby construction worker told Moreira, who was with two females, to return the stolen items.

One of the females pulled out a small handgun and handed it to Moreira, who pointed it at the construction worker, according to police.

Moreira and the two females ran away.

On Tuesday, officers found Moreira near 21st and J streets and took him into custody.  Officers seized a .22-caliber handgun.

Moreira was arrested on suspicion of robbery, use of a firearm to commit a felony and terroristic threats.
