LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was caught Sunday after he fled from officers on an electric bicycle in downtown Lincoln, police say.

Around 4:20 p.m., officers were sent to an area near 8th and P Streets after a man was reportedly threatening people with a knife.

When officers arrived, they found 33-year-old Joseth Botts, who refused to stop and rode off on an electric bicycle.

Police say Botts fell off the bike near Canopy and O Streets.  He was seen tossing a pipe, which was later found to have meth residue, in a trash can.

Eventually, officers took Botts into custody.

He was arrested on suspicion of terroristic threats, possession of a controlled substance, tampering with physical evidence and resisting arrest.
