Man runs from Grand Island officer after driving past stop sign, police say
LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man ran from an officer Friday morning during a traffic stop in Grand Island, police say.
Around 1:35 a.m., an officer saw a vehicle drive past a stop sign near First and Vine streets.
The officer pulled over the vehicle, and the driver – Abraham Gomez Zetino – ran away.
Police said the officer chased Gomez Zetino before he got back into the vehicle and drove off.
Officers saw Gomez Zetino walking nearby and chased after him once again, according to police.
Eventually, officers found Gomez Zetino at his home and arrested him on suspicion of several charges, including flight to avoid arrest.
Police said he was also wanted on a warrant in Hall County.
