LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An Arkansas man who wrote more than $64,000 in fake checks was sentenced Friday in Nebraska.

Ricky Lamb, who has been in custody on related charges since August 2015, was sentenced to time served.

U.S. District Judge Robert F. Rossiter Jr. also ordered him to pay $55,653.16 in restitution.

Lamb was on a fraudulent check spree from January to July of 2019, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

He passed 72 fake checks at farm and hardware stores in Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma and Colorado.

The checks were under the name of 14 organizations that Lamb made up, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

The scheme caused a total loss of $64,651.27, authorities said.

He issued seven fake checks in Nebraska, resulting in a loss of $7,243.37.

Some charges are still pending against Lamb, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Once he is released on those charges, Rossiter ordered him to spend five years on supervised release.
