Man sentenced to life for killing inmate during Nebraska prison riot

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man who killed a fellow inmate during a 2017 riot at the Tecumseh prison will spend the rest of his life behind bars.
Eric Ramos, 33, was sentenced to life in prison Friday for first-degree murder, according to court records.
He was also sentenced on several other charges, including use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
In 2017, 31-year-old Michael Galindo was found dead in a cell after a riot at the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution.
A group of inmates, including Ramos, attacked Galindo during the commotion. The assault was caught on security cameras.
Another inmate, Damon Fitzgerald, was also found dead after the riot. No charges were filed in his death.
A jury in Saline County found Ramos guilty on Dec. 12.
