Man shocked by Taser after fraud attempt at Lincoln bank, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man tried evading arrest Monday after a fraud attempt at a Lincoln bank, police say.
Around 10 a.m., officers were sent to LincOne Federal Credit Union near 48th and Vine streets on a report of a fraud in progress.
Police said a 31-year-old New York man had finished a loan application using a false name and tried cashing a $60,000 check.
When officers arrived, the man pushed an employee and ran out of the building, according to police.
Officers chased after the man as he jumped off a retaining wall into a restaurant’s parking lot.
Police said an officer used his Taser on the man, bringing him to a stop. He was taken to a hospital to be treated for a broken ankle from the jump.
The man was later cited on suspicion of third-degree assault and obstructing a peace officer.
