Man shocked by Taser after struggle with authorities in north Lincoln, deputy says

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A wanted man wrestled with authorities Wednesday at a home in north Lincoln, the Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office says.

Around 10 a.m., the fugitive task force went to the home near First Street and Cornhusker Highway to arrest 29-year-old Vu Huynh.

Chief Deputy Ben Houchin said Huynh had active arrest warrants for possessing a controlled substance and obstructing police.

Huynh opened the door and two investigators grabbed him as he tried to break free.

A third investigator came to help and Huynh continued to struggle as they went to the ground, Houchin said.

One of the deputies then stunned Huynh with a Taser and took him into custody.  He had 0.7 grams of meth on him, Houchin said.

After being medically cleared, Huynh was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance, assault on an officer and obstructing police.

The investigators suffered minor injuries and did not need medical treatment.
