Man shocked by Taser after swinging knife at officer in Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday after attacking an officer with a knife in Lincoln, police say.

Around 12:30 p.m., officers tried speaking with 57-year-old Bradley Hester near 20th and D streets regarding a vandalism investigation.

An officer told Hester he was under arrest and grabbed his left arm, according to police.

Hester then pulled away and swung a folding knife at the officer, police said.

The officer avoided the knife, and they both fell to the ground.

Eventually, the officer stood back up and shocked Hester with a Taser, according to police.

Hester was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including attempted second-degree assault on an officer.

The officer suffered minor injuries to his hand, elbow and knees, police said.
