LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man armed with a knife was caught Monday with a stolen vehicle in Lincoln, police say.

Just after 5 p.m., an officer near 14th and F streets spotted Moises Garcia, 35, acting “suspiciously” and wiping down a vehicle, according to LPD.

Garcia was suspected of stealing a 2013 blue Range Rover on Jan. 23.  The Range Rover was recovered later that day.

The officer recognized Garcia through an image on Crime Stoppers.

Police said the handle of a knife was seen in Garcia’s pockets.

The officer approached Garcia and told him to turn around and put his hands behind his back.

Garcia didn’t follow those instructions, according to LPD, and a second officer arrived at the scene.

That officer shocked Garcia with their Taser, causing him to fall to the ground.

Garcia started getting back up when the first officer used their Taser, which incapacitated him, police said.

Officers recovered a knife that was lying in the grass.

Garcia was arrested on suspicion of possession of a weapon by a prohibited person, resisting arrest and felony theft.
