LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Wednesday months after he shot himself in the leg with a stolen gun, police say.

On Feb. 8 around 12:15 a.m., 34-year-old Haakeem Shannon arrived with a gunshot wound to his leg.

During an investigation, officers learned Shannon threatened two people in a vehicle with a stolen handgun, an arrest affidavit says.

Shannon then accidentally shot himself in the leg, according to the affidavit.  He was then rushed to the hospital.

Police said Shannon turned himself in on Wednesday.

He was arrested on suspicion of several charges, including terroristic threats and false reporting.
