Man snuck into Lincoln gas station office, ran off with $7,800, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man snuck into a Lincoln gas station office on Monday and took a bank bag loaded with cash, police say.

Around 10 a.m., a manager at the U-Stop near 17th and Q streets left a bank bag with $7,800 on top of a desk in the office.

Police said 60-year-old Marvin Gardner was caught on security camera sneaking into the office and grabbing the bag.

On Friday, officers found Gardner near 17th and L streets and arrested him on suspicion of theft by unlawful taking.
