Man spotted lurking around Lincoln home, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – Police are hoping to identify a man who has been seen lurking around a Lincoln home on several occasions this year.
LPD received a report Sunday of a suspicious man spotted at the home near 40th and Washington streets.
Since August, the man has been caught looking through the home’s bedroom windows and walking through the backyard, according to police.
In one instance, the word “Run” was written inside the glass pane on their kitchen door and a smeared handprint, LPD said.
The family living at the home suspects it’s the same person responsible for all of these events.
Police said the family installed a Ring doorbell camera and captured video of the man in their backyard.
A night before this incident, police received a report of a man in the area knocking on the bedroom window of a 15-year-old girl.
Investigators are also seeking more information on a series of break-ins at Lincoln Vapor near North 27th and Fairfield streets.
The shop has been burglarized four times over the past five weeks, with the most recent one happening on Monday morning.
LPD estimates that the break-ins have caused over $2,000 in damage and $5,000 worth of products have been stolen.
Anyone with information is asked to call police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
