Man stabbed in abdomen during fight in northwest Lincoln, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was arrested Tuesday after a stabbing in northwest Lincoln, police say.

The stabbing was reported around 8:50 a.m. near Northwest 48th and Superior streets.

The victim told officers he was fighting with 28-year-old Mathew Bliss when he was stabbed in the abdomen with a knife.

He was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, police said.

Officers later found Bliss and arrested him on suspicion of several charges, including first-degree assault and possession of a controlled substance.

While being booked into jail, Bliss headbutted and spat on an officer, according to police.
