Man stabbed Uber driver in neck after ride to Omaha Family Dollar, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – An Uber ride in Omaha ended in a stabbing Wednesday night, police say.
Around 7:30 p.m., an Uber driver gave 28-year-old William Dimas II a ride to Family Dollar near North 30th and Sprague streets.
When they arrived, Dimas demanded the driver’s keys and stabbed him in the neck and chest, police said.
He then ran into Family Dollar, pulled out a knife and held an employee against his will, according to police.
Other employees defended themselves with a metal pole.
Officers arrived and arrested Dimas on suspicion of several charges, including attempted robbery and false imprisonment.
The Uber driver was taken to a hospital in serious condition. Police said his injuries are not life-threatening.
