Man stole cigarettes, kratom and $18.50 from two Lincoln businesses, police say

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man broke into two Lincoln businesses Wednesday and stole cigarettes, kratom and $18.50, police say.

Around 7:40 a.m., officers went to Jiffy Lube near 33rd and O streets on a report of a burglary.

An employee arrived for work and discovered that one of the garage door windows was broken, according to police.

Video surveillance captured 39-year-old Matthew Stinson kicking the window several times and breaking in around 12:50 a.m.

He then went into an office and stole $18.50, police said.  The business had $50 in damage.

Stinson was already in custody for a break-in at Midwest Smoke Shop near 48th and O streets around 2:30 a.m.

He stole kratom and cigarettes, worth around $67, from the smoke shop, according to police.

Stinson was arrested on suspicion of burglary.
