Man suffers life-threatening wounds in Lexington stabbing

LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) – A man was stabbed multiple times Saturday in west-central Nebraska, police say.

Around 7 p.m., Lexington Police officers responded to a call about a man in a stalled vehicle in northwest Lexington.

There was blood inside and outside of the vehicle, and the man was in and out of consciousness, police said.

Officers were forced to break out the passenger side window, as all doors were locked when they arrived.

As they got him out of the car, rescue personnel saw that he had suffered several stab wounds in the left torso and thigh.

He was taken to the Lexington Regional Hospital and later flown to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney with life-threatening injuries.

Officers said they found out the stabbing had taken place at a home in central Lexington and learned the identity of a possible suspect.

After arriving at that location, officers saw blood in the front yard as well as a fairly heavy blood trail leading down the street.

Based on evidence at the scene and witness statements, officers placed 27-year-old Arley Ibarra-Rodriguez into custody.

He was then interviewed and booked into the Dawson County Jail on suspicion of first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

This case remains an active investigation, police said.
